This piece borrows from late 90s corporate tailoring — the blazer structure, the sharp lapel suggestion, the wrap closure. Back
then, power dressing was rigid, oversized, and masculine-coded.
Here, the blazer is deconstructed into a wrap mini skirt. The authority remains — but the aggression disappears.
The layered white skirt underneath introduces contrast. Instead of a single heavy tailored piece, the dual-layer construction
creates movement and dimension. It feels intentional rather than functional.
The asymmetry is key. Early 2000s loved minis, but they were often simple and tight. This version adds architectural layering
— making it more directional and fashion-forward.
Black and white together reinforce minimalism — a timeless pairing that removes trend dependency. It doesn’t scream Y2K. It
references it intelligently.
